I would tell him to return the radio and refund his money minus S&H charges
both ways. This would insure you will not be charged for unwarranted
repairs.

Subject: [ICOM] IC-7000 Question
I recently sold an IC-7000 to a ham in Miami, FL. My radio was like
new and had operated flawlessly from the moment I bought it new about
18 months ago. After he received the radio, he sent me an angry email
telling me I had sold him a "lemon" and had "stolen" his money because:
1. The radio is putting out 150 watts;
2. He can only get a 1.5:1 match with his LD-7000 tuner.
He also accused me of modifying the radio. I never opened it and the
only mod was the AB5N microphone mod, and I told him this before he
purchased it.
I ran the radio mobile and never tested the exact power output, but
was curious if any of the members of this list had any experience with
the output of this radio exceeding 100 watts.
I also explained to him that the SWR issue was more likely an
antenna/tuner/grounding issue, but I am not familiar with the LD-7000
tuner and was curious if any of you had any insight into his complaint
in this regard. I had changed the CI-V port settings to run with my
Turbo Tuner and HS-1800 Pro, and suggested that he return the CI-V
settings to factory default or at least make sure they were correct
for his LD-7000 (I assume it connects to the CI-V port). He did not
tell me what type of antenna he was using.
I don't want to enter into a debate with this person, but I have sold
many radios over the years and have never had a complaint, and have
always taken great care to make sure that my radios remain in
excellent condition. He claims that he will have to send the radio to
Icom for repair, and I've requested to see the work order and receipt
from Icom.
I would appreciate the input from the members of the list about these
issues.
Thanks and 73,
Bill
