Looks like you still don't have an answer. I remember when I got my 706
MkIIG, I considered "backpacking" it and according to the current draw from
the manual, it would have run the battery dead in no time just on receive.
I cannot answer your question either, BUT, someone with their 706 MkIIG (of
which there are lot) could give the current draw AND actual FM power output
into a dummy load, from full, medium, and low power as indicated on their
power supply and you would have a pretty good idea.
Now for my excuse: Mine is mounted in my car and it would be a task to
relocate it to the shack to measure, but anybody who has one at their shack
should be able to do it. IF you still don't get an answer, email me back
and I will take care of it.
