[ICOM] re: Wired vs Wireless routers for RFI

I have two wireless routers in the house (one connected as an access
point) and haven't had any issues even though I've seen others complain
about the exact same models. However, my antennas are quite a distance
from the house. I'm suggesting that whether you have interference or not
probably has a lot to do with where the routers are in relation to the
antennas. If I had a problem I would consider using shielded network
cables as chokes may impact your cable performance and enclosing the
router in a grounded metal box. If the power-supply is a switcher you
might be able to replace it with a non-switching supply. Case in
point... I bought a used SWL radio (Grundig 800) which came with a
Radio-Shack 1500ma switching wall-wart. It generated so much rubbish I
suspect it is why the guy sold the radio. I replaced it with a Grundig
linear wall wart which weighed a ton... but it completely cleared up the
hash.
