More noise questions:
does your house have any aluminum wiring?
have you ever noticed a light becoming brighter as a high current device
starts
such as furnace blower, refrig, freezer or the xyls pressing iron.
All of these can lead to a problem in a receptacle feeding the stuff in
the shack.
Using an extension cord power the rx in the shack from another circuit in
another room, \
that may be a way to help isolate noise.
The question about aluminum is that aluminum can and usually will "cold
flow"
under a screw on the outlet, a switch but also the most common is the
neutral lug
on the meter socket. I have seen those to make weird line noises as well
as high voltage
on one side of the line along with a corresponding drop on the other side
of the line.
This is true only with a three wire service.
