[ICOM] IC765 problems - more details

Hi guys,

Here are further details regarding the sick 765. I spent some time with my
friend this afternoon trouble shooting and we found the following:

CW, RTTY and FM works OK in transmit with full output. Only carrier on RTTY
- no mod.

LSB/USB - no output. There is no modulation.

RX works on all bands, all modes with carrier - no mod. from ext. signal
generator but very, very weak!!! Just barely readable with RF and AF volume
fully CW. Audio level on FM seems normal, i.e. RF at 3 and AF at 9.

Also measured the two batteries in the rig - one on the TUC board 3.42V and
one for the CPU on the PLL board 3.06V. Seems the one on the CPU is a little
low but don't know if this is relevant to the problem.

Serial number on the rig is #2825.

Again, this problem happened suddenly, not gradually.

We don't have any sophisticated test equipment and can't measure low level
RF.
