Bert: It would be helpful if you could give a little more detail regarding
your friends 765 receive  problem. For example is there any noise or sound
at all coming from his speaker or headphones even at a low level? Can the
noise if there is anybe reduced by the audio gain control? How about other
modes? any noise in those modes? Any popping sound or noise when the rig is
switched from transmit then back to receive? Any deflection on the "S"
meter? does adjusting the RF gain control cause the S meter to move from 0
to the right? Help us be able to help you. Larry K4LXV
