Hi Mike,
The IC-746Pro should be much better. The DSP IF filters have much better
shape factors and stopband attenuation than analogue filters, and also have
continuously-adjustable bandwidth.
The 746Pro also has a tuneable notch filter, inside the AGC loop, with 70 dB
notch depth.

I have had the original 746, with a 500 hz filter, and 400 hz cw filters
cascaded. It did not have any problems with agc pumping in a contest/qrm
filled band. Is the 746 Pro the same, better or??? Thanks...
