My pleasure - glad to help. The FCC site is a bit tricky; the search process
is not intuitive.

The product code is not always related to the radio model number; it often
is for the older ones - e.g. AFJIC-756 - but not for the newer ones where
the code is a 6-digit number.  To look up all the products of a given
manufacturer, the grantee code is required. Icom is AFJ and VS/Yaesu is K66.
Ten Tec is DJ7.

To find a Grantee Code, go to the "Grantee Search" page (link on left side
of "Authorization Search" page) and enter the company name (e.g. Kenwood).
Kenwood has several grantee codes.

No rumour. The IC-7700 was certified on 11 February 2008.

Go to http://www.fcc.gov/oet/ -> Equipment Authorization Search. Enter
Grantee Code AFJ and Product Code 300900.

You can download exterior and interior photos, the user manual etc.

I have also announced this on my IC-7700 page.

Now that the IC-7700 is approved, we should be seeing it at US dealers next
