Like W6OMF says, sounds like an ethernet router. I have tried several here,
and found LinkSys (Cisco) to be the worst at generating RFI birdies; NetGear
to be the best.
There are a couple ways to reduce (but won't eliminate) the RFI: re-routing
the cable runs to be farthest from your rig; installing toroids on the power
and ethernet cables, stick the router (AND its switching power supply) in a
metal box. None of these methods are completely successful. More drastic
approaches that yield better results: throw out the LinkSys router; go to
wireless cards in your rig PC computer (and any other PCs nearby).

Subject: [ICOM] HF Nosie on 756PROIII
Hi, I have recently noticed some static type noise on all bands which is
rather strong. On the 30m band I noticed that the noise spikes are spaced
61 KHz apart. On other bands the noise spikes are more tightly spaced. I
have turned off all other electrical devices with no luck. I placed the
radio on battery power and still have the same results. I tried a couple of
antennas, one vertical and a yagi, same result. Signal does not increase or
decrease when I changed the direction of the antenna. I made two short
video recordings, mpg format, 3.5mb each, if anyone would like to see and
listen to the noise, just contact me directly.
Any assistance is much appreciated.

Roland
