being an owner of one myself, I will
dare to speculate...
what could cut back power
1. swr protection circuits working overtime.
2. power supply regulation going bad
3. the rf power pot control needs to be replaced or cleaned.
4. try a cpu reset
5. try bypassing the tuner
6. turn off processing, vox, everything except the basics...
7. try making the room warmer or colder (shouldnt
matter, but might give you more information)
8. If this happens in CW, then try to find a power level
to set the rig at where it wont do this and make a
note of it.
8.5 (a steadily rising power increase to full indicates
a voltage insuficiency problem. It could be current,
but Im guessing voltage.
9. all else fails, contact scott malcom, an icom
guru tech.
