[ICOM] Boom Microphones

Dave,
I have a homebrewed Boom mic. I went to Good Will and purchased an open beam
desk lamp for $1.00. I removed the lamp assembly and mounted the top piece
of a desk mic stand on the end of the boom. I then installed my D-104 on
it and love the way it works. I also have a dynamic mic (Astatic DM-500)
that fits the same connector. The mic is a little heavier than the lamp, so
I had to tighten the springs a little more.
I set the mic at a right angle using an SO-239 elbow so the boom would be
off to the side of the face. That allows me to see the keyboard and computer
screen. The S0-239 connectors will fit most of the standard mic stands,
making them an adjustable adapter. I can send photos if you are interested.
