Kuni does work for Icam America. It is likely that you have a faulty resistor on the logic board. If you can contact Kuni off list he can adivse you. If you are comfortable at being a tech, you can check those resistors yourself and save a bundle....maybe buy a filter for it instead. I've lsot Kuni's number or would share it with you.

I have an Icom IC 730 from the '70s that my dad has been using for years.
Yesterday the display only shows number 8s.
I wonder if there are reliable guys out there who repair Icoms or will I
need to ship it to Icom? I have neither the equipment nor skill to attempt
serious repair. Please contact me directly
