[ICOM] Temp New Moderator

Yes - sir....  we are at 7 points right now.  You need 15 points to finish
in the AKC system, and two of the shows must be 3-point MAJOR shows or
above.  This weekend there are 4 shows in Alamogordo NM.  Every day was to
be 3 points.  Well, yesterday 4 digs didn't show up, so the 3-point show
broke, it was only 2 points.  On top of that, we got dumped.  We didn't
expect much from that judge anyway.

However - today is a better chance.  The judges over the next 3 days are
much more favorable.  We are hoping to win just two days, to get the 3-point
shows out of the way.  Winning all three days would finish her.

ASL (3,100+ meters) in the Sandia Mountains.  But he is nearly 8, an old man
now.  Not many more hikes in his future.  Sad that Great Danes are so
short-lived.

The GOOD news is that while sitting at the showgrounds yesterday I got on a
local repeater and got to chatting with a fellow up in the Sacramento
mountains area.  He is in a wheelchair, but he likes dogs and has never seen
a dog show.  I will invite him to come down and see it today.  So anyway -
my ICOM IC-W32a got a real good workout. That radio does have some problems,
but as a handheld in a rf-clean environment it sure works good.   It just
doesn't handle RF-overloading well.  We own 3, and a number of batteries.  I
will be using that radio today again.  It has a problem though.  I use an
HM-75 mic.  That works great.  But if I use the internal speaker, it is all
but useless.  I need to sit one day and figure what is wrong.  I use the
HM-75 nearly ALL the time, so it isn't critical....  but it IS a small
problem in the radio.

At least this ends on an ICOM subject.......
