Not sure if this may help but I can make a comparison with my 781 on which
the 735 now sits. There is a world of difference as you would expect on
receive, particularly cw because of the filters. Depending on your needs,
the 735 is a good little radio which I've had absolutely no problems with in
the 15 or so years since I bought it during which it has been subjected to
about the worst conditions imaginable aboard our boat. It has been retired
from that use to allow some reconfiguring to accommodate a new rig but I
would never part with mine.
