[ICOM] IC-735 low sensitivity

I have recently purchased used IC-735 which I intend to use when operating
from my summer shack out in the country. It appears, when 500Hz CW filter
switched on, the sensitivity of the radio drops by at least 10-15db. Is it
sort of inherent to this radio or does it mean faulty filter. Is there known
way to cure the problem. My summer shack is in a pretty RF quiet place and
the lack of sensitivity  is very well pronounced.
