George,

The CI-V switch settings are shown on page 26 of the IC-761 manual.
The switch settings are from the factory as they appear on Page 26 of
the IC-761 manual.

Switch 1 & 2 sets the baud rate, Switch 3 sets the transceive flag on
or off and Switches 4, 5 & 6 set the frequency band of the transceiver.
Only play with switches 1,2 & 3 on Switch 1. Switches 4,5 & 6 tell a
connected radio used in tranceive mode what the radio is and the switch
positions shown in the manual are correct for that.

Go to http://www.icom.co.jp/world/support/index.html you can grab the
UX-14 manual as well as the IC-761 manual. The site has a nice search
feature so typing in the model number will bring up the manual.

The 716 CI-V board appears to be a UX-14 so I went to that manual for
the address switch settings. I have no idea why Icom did bot publish
just a little more of an explanation in the 761 manual.

Switch 2 :

1 2 3 4 5 6 <- Switch positions
1 2 4 8 16 32 <- Switch numerical value

So for the IC-761 Switches 2,3,4 & 5 are ON. That says the IC-761
transceiver CI-V address is 2+4+8+16 = 30 decimal or 1EH

The fastest the IC-761 will communicate is 9600 baud and is factory set
at 1200 baud.

Hope this helps.
