[ICOM] Icom and AM broadcast overload

I live one mile away from a 50kw AM broadcast station, and have lived
with the problem for nearly 40 years. I did find a couple of things
that help, though...
The first is to build a high pass filter (as was suggested), but it
should go in the Receive line only. Otherwise you'll have some
unwanted attenuation of your transmitted signal. Not much, but who
wants to lose even a fraction of the transmitted power?
The second idea was also suggested: Use your antenna matching network
as a BC filter. You won't get much attenuation of the AM BC signal,
but you probably don't need much. This solution has kept me going on
wet days when the AM signal is especially obnoxious.
Also, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of some AM detection - not
necessarily in your ham gear though. It could be somewhere else
nearby. I once was able to detect the local AM station on my toilet
(only when you sit down).
For years, I've been meaning to wind a couple of turns of wire around
the roof of the house, and see what I could power with the rectified
signal. Maybe a new power source for QRP.
73 es good luck.

First my IC 706mkIIG and now my 746 pro are being overloaded. I don't live all that close to the AM transmitter. It's at least 3 -5 miles away. At first I thought this was due to my 706 having a connector problem but that has been fixed and my 746 is FB after getting it back from the radio doctor. I have tried Ferrite beads and may need to add some more and I will try to improve my grounding but other than this are there some more things to try?
