If it is AM overloading adding ferrite beads will do nothing to help with
the problem...it is RF coming in through your antennas and the only thing
that will help is filters...preferably a highpass filter which rejects
freq's below 1.8mhz...only my opinion, YMMV, de gary, kd9sv

Subject: [ICOM] Icom and AM broadcast overload

I recently transferred some of my station to another operating position. I
am now having problems with AM broadcast overload up and down the HF bands.
First my IC 706mkIIG and now my 746 pro are being overloaded. I don't live
all that close to the AM transmitter. It's at least 3 -5 miles away. At
first I thought this was due to my 706 having a connector problem but that
has been fixed and my 746 is FB after getting it back from the radio doctor.
I have tried Ferrite beads and may need to add some more and I will try to
improve my grounding but other than this are there some more things to try?
