Agreed. One should also remember that IMD3 increases by 3 dB, and IMD5 by 5
dB, for every dB increase in Po above the design rating. Also, Icom will not
honour the warranty if they determine that an in-warranty radio has been
tampered with.

Strange how this topic migrated over here after it "died out" on the
IC-756Pro3 group!

    You will never notice any difference between 80/85 watts output versus
the 100/105 watts output as far as "on the air" reports go. So unless you
have accurate power measuring equipment at your disposal, you're better to
leave the darn thing alone.
