Yeah - I agree...... I don't want to spend $10k on something I won't use
much till I'm an ate-up old geezer... I expect they will improve even more
by the time I get to where I can't see the front sight of my guns, or hike,
or train dogs, or work on my jeep. Letterboxing, Geocaching, Dog shows.....
So much more to do than sit in front of a radio....
Going on a multi-day hike up the middle fork of the Gila River in about 10
days. Ain't even taking the 706 deployment set. I'll use the 901A in the
car as a X-band repeater to stay in touch with the tent while my son and I
hike. That's about all the radio I'll need out there.
I guess when I get one foot in the grave and another on a banana peal - I
will worry about radios and the pricing of a lot more.
Feeling like I do today - ICOM should be at about the PRO-VIII before I
can't get out anymore.
OTOH - I always say let the topic run, and if you don't want to read it just
hit DELETE. I've done that a LOT this afternoon. <GRIN>.
HI DICK! <BIG-grin>
