Unfortunately, the IC-756PRO that I have had dual watch, but the audio
goes to both ears - the audio amplifer is a mixed single channel (not
stereo) signal.
Also I wish the audio control was adjustable in 10 Hz steps! My ears
love 780 Hz CW audio - not 750 or 800 - I'm always a wee bit off
frequency when targeting my favorite pitch (perhaps the '756PRO goes
750, 775, 800, 825 etc. but I'm not at the radio and I don't remember.
I spent many years with "Split Phones" one receiver in one ear, another
in the other ear - and most often several receivers on different
frequencies outside the earphones on loud speakers. Military people
will know the difference between a WATCH (one speaker or a headphone)
and COVER (one frequency that was in a room of multiple radios) and a
split-phone watch - which was nearly as good as a WATCH - except when
you wer copying traffic! But most of us didn't miss a call when copying
traffic on the "other" ear - it might have taken us 20 minutes to
respond if it was a routine call, but the SOS calls caused the traffic
to be stopped, and both ears to go on to the SOS frequency!
Two audio signals is my way to do dual watch.
