Hope you are correct, but that was over 20 years Ago & those people are long
gone.
I don't mind the $6K but one will not be at this QTH unless it has DUAL
WATCH. I consistently use that feature on the PROIII & refuse to go
backwards.
Other new non-Icom Rigs on the Market are starting to look very attractive.

Oh c'mon... It's just a little circuitry... It's the design omission/error
that's going to be expensive. The 7700 will not sell well without
dual-watch. It's a rig aimed at a discriminating (not rich) amateur who
knows what they want... And I suspect they want dual-watch! 6-7K is NOT
pocket change for most amateurs... For those who it is, they will buy the
7800 anyway. I'll wait for the inevitable IC-7700A. Remember; other "design
mistakes" such as the 751 were superseded very quickly...
