Analog vs Digital metering (Was: RE: [ICOM] New IC-7700)

One point is missing with this analog/digital meter
argument.  Analog meters are notoriously innacurate.
I strongly suspect that today's analog-to-digital
conversions are considerably more accurate than
the average consumer-grade analog meters.

Auto manufacturers today frequently don't even put
actual numbers on many of their gauges/meters due
to the inaccuracy.
