[ICOM] 706MKiiG with AT-180

I would like to know if when you have a 706 hooked to the AT-180 that 
the other ACC plug on the
AT-180 is functional as the ACC to the 706. It is the 14 pin one not the 
9 pin . I have a device that uses
that 14 pin on the 706 and the at-180 Takes that up when it is inline 
but has another 14 pin below where you hook to the AT-180.
The only "manual" I can find is the one page out of the 706 book, which 
does  not explain it
