I would like to compare the AOR AR Alpha to the Icom IC-R9500. It seems that the AOR receiver is giving
you more features. Its not as pretty as the Icom but I really like there products. 73 , Randy N5WV

I hope ICOM comes out with a new receiver. It should have a good video
display - but it must have excellent audio too. It needs to have a big
screen that you can see across the room, and be able to receive multiple
bands, like around 50-75, 175-220, and 470-900 MHz. Additionally - it
should accept a second input that covers 50-1000 MHz - NO BLOCKED
frequencies. It should have accessory outputs for video and audio. It
should have set level outputs for recording. It should have an IR remote
control so you can use it without walking over to it. It needs to have
multiple modes - like LD and HD.
OH - wait.... Doesn't SONY make one like this already?
I have always thought some of the stuff you hear about Dayton gets started
on 1 April. Kind of an early "Peek". <grin>
