Yeah , I have a lot of gear but one time I sold my first HF rig "Yaesu FT-101ZD" and I regretted it for
some strange reason. This also happened to me when I sold my first Icom IC-R71A and IC-R7000 Receivers. I
have never thought of purchasing the another Yaesu to replace the one I sold but I did replace the two
receivers. I wanted late serial numbered units in "mint" condition. Well this venture showed me that mint
only should be associated with flavors and a coin producing facility. I purchased six 71's and five 7000's
before getting one that satisfied me. I must start selling the extra units on ebay soon because these and
most electronics loose value fast. Your email is putting me into gear with selling these receivers. I have
only purchased on ebay , never sold but adding a picture to your item discription must be simple. Im going
to wait until this fall to purchase the 7800 and wait about two or three years on the 9500. Im sure that
the 7800 is at final rev but six or eight more months will make me feel better. Icom does need to replace
its PW-1 with a newer model amp. Its problems at first really hurt sales. Although it is supposed to be a
great product now you know what first empressions make on anything. If a product starts out bad with
problems like the PW-1 had and even if they are corrected the sales may pick up a little but they will be
damaged . 73 , de Randy N5WV

Hi Randy,
The IC-7800 is still priced at USD 10600 (I checked a couple of national
dealers). Universal Radio is advertising the IC-R9500 at USD 13500.
Now's the time to get your IC-7800! It may even be worth while to raise the
necessary capital by letting go of some older kit whilst it still has some
market value. I have been doing this for years already.
Cheers for now, 73,
Adam, VA7OJ/AB4OJ
