Hi, Bill.

I think the similarity to the X3 may be more than just nomenclature.  It 
would only make sense that ICOM leverage the X3 technology to build their 
new medium-range amateur transceiver.

I don't think I will ever be able to justify the expense of a 7800, but I 
will be -very- interested in this new radio.  What all this also means is 
that when the time comes, there will be a lot of very nice used P3's 
hitting the market.
