I'd be too afraid to ask. It may reveal something about MARS/CAP that you didn't want to know and they don't want to expose. ;-)

As to the original question, even a used P3 represents a substantial cash value. Since the economy is doing so great in the US, folks may be selling them to celebrate that fact.
