[ICOM] Icom 706MKII and 93 Dodge dakota mounting suggestions

    This may not work in your Dakota, but in mine I mounted the radio 
(not a 706) to the front of the console between the front seats. There 
is a plastic cover on the console facing the dash that is only held on 
with small clips and removes very easily. Under that is the metal frame 
of the console with two holes about 6 inches apart. Mounting the bracket 
there requires small hands to reach inside and line up the nuts to the 
screws, but once that's done, it's a piece of cake. You then have the 
front of the radio facing up and at an angle that is easy to see.
