[ICOM] IC-718 / PSK31 / "phase noise"

That is all well and good unless you are in a far away place like
Botswana. we will be doing some psk from A25 starting around the 6th of
July for about 10 days or so. The phase noise is from the rig not over
drive on psk. We used 2 IC-7000s last year in Mozambique and the phase
noise was bad. So filters are what is needed.

PSK31 doesn't want high power. All you do is splatter and destroy the
band.
Keep your power below 25 watts, turn off your compressor and keep the
mic
gain LOW. All these will make for a clean signal from the radio that
will
create the psk31 output you (and everybody else) wants to hear.
