I've searched the Internet over, trying to find
information on how I might connect a Griffin
Technologies PowerMate knob to an Icom
transceiver. The PowerMate is a USB knob/switch
device which can be programmed to do several
off/on functions as well as analog Up/Down features
(like a volume control). The PowerMate knob is
available from:

and can often be found for sale on eBay. If an
existing program has the ability to perform a
function using specific key presses - say, Ctrl X or
Alt X where X is a particular character, the
PowerMate can easily imitate those key presses.
The program must already have those functions built
in, however. Ham Radio Deluxe does have those
features but I am trying to find something which is
completely independent of a program, using just the
PowerMate, an interface, and an Icom transceiver
like the 756PRO series, the 706 series or the IC-
7000.

What I would like to see is some sort of interface to
go between the PowerMate knob and the Icom CI-V
input to allow the PowerMate to be used as a remote
tuning knob located several feet away from the
transceiver.

Has anyone seen something which would
accomplish this or are you aware of any piece of
hardware which might do this task?
