[ICOM] PW1 and 10 meters

Really, the mod isn't that bad. You just touch point of a very fine point
soldering iron to one side of the diode and it springs up. Use a giant
magnifying glass to see this. Touch the point to the other side and it
drops away. The biggest problem is catching the darn thing so that it
doesn't end up someplace in the middle of the PW1 (or in the pet's stomach).

Subject: [ICOM] PW1 and 10 meters

Hi,

I was going to modify my PW-1 for 10 meter operation until I got the cover
off and discovered that I am an official OF.

I can barely see the diode that needs to come out let alone unsolder one or
both ends. What's the best way to make this modification? Do I dare get
gutsy and just crunch it out with wire cutters?

I'm sure this issue has been addressed, but I couldn't find anything in the
archives.

Thanks, & 73
