[ICOM] 746PRO problem

This probably has nothing to do with the problem, but try a different
cable length between the amp and the radio. I had a similar problem with
and Icom rig into a solid state amp it would take a couple of seconds
for the rig to adjust to the input match. Once it saw a match it liked
the power came up. I'm not quite sure how that would effect the ALC but
worth a shot. BTW does the 200 have some kind of input tuning? That may
accomplish the same thing.

I have noticed that when I use my old converted SB200 on 6 meters SSB,
the 
ALC goes wide open for several seconds preventing any SSB output.  Then,
it 
settles down. This happens each time the mike is keyed. Without the amp,
the 
ALC is normal. This is only on 6. Any ideas? TIA
