And I am using a much older DSP-9+ with my IC-761. It works just fine and
one day I might do the upgrade recommended to me by the TimeWave guys at
Dayton last year.

I've been using TimeWave DSP units for about 10 years now. I presently have
a 599zx which works great with my 765. What the rig won't handle, the 599zx
does.
I highly recommend it.
