I had an IC-775 that both stepper motors were defective.

I dissassembled the motors and found the plastic (nylon) bobben that
supported the armateur was split into two pieces.

I applied expoxy for a repair.

Subject: [-] [ICOM] IC-775 Antenna Tuner Problem

This 775DSP seems to tune up fairly well on all bands except 7 and sometimes
14 Mhz. Into a dummy load, it wont find an SWR below 2 to 1. If I bypass
the tuner, it does read 1:1. Also there seems to be somewhat more noise
from one of the stepper motors that drive the variable loading/tuning
capacitors... I am wondering if a stepper motor has gone bad. Does anyone
have experience with failures in these tuners, ...before going back to the
factory, what is a common failure?
Thanks N4BE
