[ICOM] 706 MK2G Finals - possible replacements?

I could be wrong, but it's my understanding the problem 706 MKIIG's re:final 
replacement  are the ones that the serial # was 5 digits 1#### etc. The 
newer 706MKIIg's with serial # series 150### are apparently o.k.
