Jose,
This radio generally can only disappoint you with its display which is prone
to eventually get blue lines across. I personally managed to rid off them by
adjusting (lowering) the backlight and contrast. The rest makes the radio
rather bulletproof. If you like high quality wideband SSB, the units of
later serial numbers will provide you with a nice switch to make the
transmitted signal to sound amazingly rich. The built-in monitor allows you
to easily adjust your transmit SSB signal according to your taste. If you
like CW, a pair of optional 250 Hz filters make it a super CW rig. If you
like RTTY, you can easily run it at 100% duty cycle. Besides, the 250 Hz
filters can also be used for RTTY reception. And of course you get a real
time bandscope which is a feature in its own.
To bring you some negative information for a change, the 756 is rather poor
on 80 and 160 m (sometimes even on 40) being prone to overload by off band
urban interference. It means, this radio runs perfectly in a country side on
any band but gets blocked on Low bands by usual urban industrial noises.

My topic...
Can we consider the legendary IC-756, free of problems?
I am on the way acquiring one.
Thanks
