[ICOM] 756P: Locking PLL to GPS for EME

I have been very happy with my 756P since buying it a number of years ago.
However, my interest has drifted from using it on HF, to its application in
the EME arena. Specifically, I propose to use the 756P at 46 MHz as an IF
for a 1296 transverter.

My question: has anyone locked the 756P's PLL reference oscillator (32.00056
MHz) to a GPS reference? I see a number of way to accomplish this
modification, primarily bypassing the reference crystal and going directly
into Q51?

My service manual, provided when I purchased the receiver, indicates on the
PLL schematic that the reference crystal is X51, however, in the parts list
(p 5-21) it is called out as X52?

Any suggestions would be appreciated off line: gbailey at mail.sdsu.edu
