Greetings, all.
With a great deal of help from Rick, W8ZT, I
have located the means to set the output of
the UT-102 voice synthesizer board when used
in the IC-703.
Here's the skinny!
The mini-pot to adjust the output level was in
a slightly different location from what Rick had
remembered from past observation, but he did
not have the radio on hand.
Rick provided me the part designator that does
the job deed (R7205). I couldn't determine any
part numbers on the small board layout print I
have printed up.
I was able to determine that this mini-pot is a
little forward (toward front panel) and bit to the
right of a test pad labeled CP 1851. It is also a
bit behind and to the left of J2452 which is a
two-pin connector with shielded cable leading
left to the area of the DSP board.
This is the adjustment point you need. Turning it
clockwise raises the output level of your UT-102
voice synthesizer module.
There is another mini-pot in the general vicinity
of R7205 but it is left of the CP 1851 test pad
and a little to the rear. This is NOT the voice
level pot. On checking the copy of the service
manual I have, I observe that this pot is labeled
as R1853, the CW carrier level adjustment on
Page 4-7 of the service manual I have.
After some trial and error in locating this pot,
I remembered that I had a service manual for
the IC-703 in a PDF file. After bringing it up
and greatly enlarging the board layout, I did
confirm that this is, in fact, R7205.
Once again, many thanks to Rick Robinson, W8ZT
for his help on this.
I hope others will find the information useful.
