[ICOM] 2 meter receive out on Icom 706

I picked up an Icom 706 original off of ebay last
week, and the HF and 6m side is working great. 
However, the receive is extremely low on 2 meters.  It
is putting out the full 10 watts, but I can just
barely hear a couple of the local repeaters, and tried
a SSB QSO with a friend across town and couldn't hear
him.  Did a full reset and the problem remains.  The
antenna and coax is fine as I am getting the local
repeaters full scale on my Yaesu FT8900.  

Has anyone else had this problem?  Any ideas as to
what might be wrong with it?
