John,
I wish you had the 6 meter extension for the Yaesu antenna. I need it for
my VX-5R. Have you ever played with a VX-3? I had a VX-2 for a while and
really liked the little radio except the PTT button was kind of stiff.
Wonder if they fixed that on the VX-3? I also was curious about the
ability to monitor the broadcast band while listening on a ham band. Do
they have a switching circuit that switches the receiver between the two
freqs? Are there artifacts in the audio? I bet it is similar to the Icom
7000. You can have a real time spectrum scope on the 7000 if you can put
up with the breaks in the audio from it switching the receiver between
receive audio and spectrum scope operation. Just thought you could advise
on the above if you've had a VX-3. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
