I know several guys that have used Icom service at Icom America headquarters
in Bellevue, WA. Dan Miles is the head guy. Know the 781 inside and out.

Subject: [ICOM] IC781 service

My IC781 requires service...

The last 2 times I sent gear to Icom Canada I've had serious problems with
the work. In both cases I had to repair the repairs! Last time they soldered
a lithium battery in reverse polarity. What particularly irritated me was
they obviously didn't even take a moment to check that the radio was still
functioning properly before shipping it 2500Km back to me after having kept
the radio 5 months!

Anyway, any recommendations as to the best place to have an IC-781 serviced?
Please reply direct as this has been covered on the reflector before but I
wanted to get some current opinions...

Thanks...
