Hi,
Direct connect RS232 cable is cross over one. You need a straight thru
DB9 F-F cable.  Why not make one yourself? Been LONG time since
working on RS232 serial stuff. My PC, Laptops don't even have serial 
port any more.
I use serial-USB adapter now.
