[ICOM] 706 receiver mute problem

My mobile Mk2G was getting chirpy. Turned out the orig equipment fuses had
gotten high in resistance and were causing enuf drop. I replaced them with
USA manufactured ones and the radio works fine again.

My problem would only show up on transmit while trying to draw 20 A, but
your fuses could be even worse.

This sounds like a power supply issue that's often discussed on the
LIST. Icom's are pretty fussy about their operating voltage. Verify
that you have 13.8V at the 706 terminals from your PS and check the
power cord and connectors for loose or hi-res. connections.
