I'm not at home to actually look at my PP-1,
but the schematic shows a switch in the
output line for HI or LO Mic output gain.

HI and LO are fed from separate sections of
an LM-324 op-amp.

Mac,

I don't remember if the switch on the back of PP1
is documented in the instructions but it was for the
earlier Icom's that required more mic audio drive.
