Something that may be missed here is 'carry on'.
If you are going to do all of the handling of your carry on, you do not have
to worry about the baggage handlers throwing your radio around. All you
want to do is protect the radio from scratches and dings from when you rest
your foot on the case if it winds up under the seat in front of you. If it
goes in the overhead then you don't even have to worry about that.
If the Pelican 1510 is big enough for the 756, you are home free, and it is
a great radio.
Even a soft case would work for you.
