I would be tempted to let it dry out at least a week (covers removed) If
available I would have someone with an air compressor blow air lightly over
the inside of the unit to ensure it's good and dry.

Well - seems like you may have your hands full for another day or so.  Was
it me, I think I would just move it somewhere with as low a humidity as
possible, and let it dry another day or so.  

Also could be some mineral deposit between critical sensing components
causing it to think something is amiss.
