Ed,
WWV is a government time and frequency reference station operating on 2.5,
5, 10, 15 and 20 MHz.
Here's a URL for the station.

Subject: [ICOM] all time stupid question
When using my borrowed icom706mkIIg ( my normal rig is in the hospital), I
find that pushing the band button the rig goes through band in normal
progression but ...
30 meters
20 meters
and then 15.000 megaherts
15.000 and then can tune up
then next band button takes it to
17 meters
15 meters
12 and 10
I can't find anything in the manual about 15.000 megahertz Just wondering if
that a general reception band or is this rig modified for some reason?
I can't find anything in the manual that gives me a clue on how I can
eleminate 15 megs from the button progression.
I looked through the Icom mods listing and found nothing pertinent.

That's okay; they don't want you in Hell, either.
