To double check:

I always tune in a station(W1AW for instance) on a second receiver:

Then tune it in on my transceiver:

Then switch transceiver to dummy load, turn to minimum power;

Then I transmit to VERIFY that my rig is on the same frequency when 
listening on the receiver.

I dont do this every time , of course, but at least once to be certain I am 
on freq....amazing how many guys are WAY off......listen  to a qso with a 
narrow filter and MANY times you'll have to qsy to hear the other guy.
