Hi Warren,
If your primary interest is HF/6m, the IC-756Pro3 will be a better choice. A
good alternative to the IC-746Pro for HF/VHF/UHF is the IC-7000.
The DSP covers the entire frequency range of the 746Pro, as it is in the
final IF.

Has anyone used the 746 Pro on 6 and 2 Meter SSB? How does it
work for weak signal reception on those bands? What are you comparing it
with? How is it on crowded bands with adjacent strong signals on HF, 6, and
2 Meters? Do all the great DSP functions operate the same on 6 and 2 Meters
as on HF? Still have many questions before I buy one.
